What is this?

Forward-Looking is a cooperative monthly survey that helps small consultancies and advisors figure out what the heck is going on.

No one can see the future. But by anonymously sharing our outlooks and strategies, we can make better plans.

How does it work?

On the first Wednesday of every month, we send a 5-minute pulse survey to our network. (Sign up here to get notified)

We always ask:

• How do you feel about the current state of your business?
• How do you feel about your pipeline for the next 3-6 months?
• What changes are you making?
• What's working for you?

We send out a summary of the results a week after the survey closes.

Who is it for?

This survey focuses on small consultancies. For us, that means:

• You own your own business;
• You have fewer than five employees (or none at all);
• You provide services to other companies on a contract basis.

How do I see the results?

Take the survey! We may expand this later, but for now, only survey respondents will get a copy of the insights.

That's why we're calling this a cooperative survey — by participating, you help others and yourself.

Wait, this seems like sensitive info — how do you protect my privacy?

Forward-Looking surveys are completely anonymous. Your responses aren't tied to your email— even we don't know who you are.

Following the survey, we do ask for your email on a separate form so we can send you the analysis when it's ready. But this isn't linked to your survey responses.

We know this is all sensitive stuff, so we will never disclose who is taking the survey.

Who are you?

I'm Andrew McGill, a solo consultant and product builder.

I've been running my own business since 2023 (and had a whole career in media & product before then).

I'm launching Forward-Looking to bring just a little more certainty to these uncertain times.
